What is an EICR and do I need one?
An EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) is a formal inspection of the fixed wiring in a property, checking it is safe to continue in use. Homeowners are advised to have one roughly every 10 years, and it is a legal requirement for private landlords in England every 5 years. As NAPIT-registered electricians, we carry out EICRs and provide a full written report on completion.
Can you upgrade or replace my old fuse board?
Yes. Replacing an old fuse board with a modern consumer unit with RCD protection is one of our core jobs. A new board brings your home up to current wiring regulations and adds protection against electric shock and fire. We test the installation, hand over the certification and notify the work where required.
Are you NAPIT registered and is your work Part P certified?
Yes. P & P Electrical Ltd is registered with NAPIT, a government-approved competent person scheme. That means we can self-certify notifiable electrical work under Part P of the Building Regulations, so you receive the correct certificate and your local authority is notified without a separate building control charge.
